Who we are and when these terms apply
These terms govern your use of Romy, operated by Alice Bull, trading as Romy. "We," "us," and "Romy" refer to Alice Bull trading as Romy. "You" refers to the person or business using the service for business purposes. Contact us at hello@romy.is or 2261 Market Street, STE 94902, San Francisco, CA 94114, United States.
These terms apply when you use the Romy website, request a First Read, buy or use First Users, or accept an invitation to Romy OS. The plan and price shown at checkout, your order confirmation, the Privacy Policy at https://romy.is/privacy, and, where it applies, the Data Processing Addendum at https://romy.is/dpa also form part of our agreement.

Free First Read
The First Read is a free, automated reading of the product URL and description you submit. It is intended to give you an initial view of who may need the product, where they may be found, and how the product could be described. It may be incomplete or general, particularly where a site is thin, inaccessible, or client-rendered.

Romy OS access and actions
Romy OS is in private testing. Access is by invitation and may include unfinished or changing features. Unless an invitation or order says otherwise, invited Romy OS access is separate from a paid First Users subscription.
Romy OS may use information in your workspace and services you connect to prepare recommendations, drafts, and proposed actions. Unless a feature clearly says it can act automatically and you deliberately enable it, Romy does not send messages, publish content, make purchases, delete records, or change an external service without your approval.
You decide which accounts and services to connect, and you confirm that you have authority to give Romy the requested access. Your use of a connected service remains subject to its own terms. You can revoke a connection at any time, although doing so may stop the connected feature from working.
We may change or withdraw invited test access with reasonable notice, or immediately where necessary for security, law, non-payment, or a serious breach of these terms. If Romy OS becomes a paid product, we will show you its price, renewal, and cancellation terms and ask you to accept them before charging you.

What First Users includes
First Users is a paid research and review service. Both plans include Your Commercial Review, a weekly group of people, the evidence behind each selection, a checked contact route, and an outreach draft for you to review and send.
- First Users 25: $49 per month for 25 reviewed people each week, for one product and one audience.
- First Users 50: $99 per month for 50 reviewed people each week, plus a monthly re-read of your site and messaging, change tracking, and priority in the preparation queue.
The Your Commercial Review covers your positioning, likely first audience, places where that audience talks about the problem, website clarity, and visibility in search and AI answers. It becomes the starting hypothesis for the people Romy researches.
After Stripe confirms your subscription, you must set up your account and complete the onboarding information. Romy begins the Commercial Review after checkout. Your first weekly group is due within two working days after you complete and submit setup. After that, Romy prepares one group each week while your subscription is active and paid. If you schedule cancellation, new research and deliveries stop as described below.

People, evidence, and replacements
Romy researches people and organisations using public information and the audience, product, exclusions, and other context you provide. A person reviews each selection, its source, its fit, and the available contact route before delivery. Contact details and public evidence can change after they are checked.
You can mark a person right, not right now, wrong, or replied. If you mark someone wrong because they do not fit the audience you gave Romy, Romy will replace them in the following weekly delivery. A replacement addresses audience fit; it does not guarantee that the replacement will reply, meet with you, or buy.

Your setup and decisions
You are responsible for giving Romy accurate information, keeping your account secure, and telling us when your product, audience, exclusions, or contact preferences change. You must have the right to submit any material or personal data you give us.
Romy may make a best guess where you choose “I’m not sure yet.” You remain responsible for reviewing the Commercial Review, each person, the evidence, the contact route, and every draft before you use it.

Outreach is your responsibility
Romy does not contact people for you. It prepares research and draft messages; you decide whether, when, and how to contact someone and you press send.
You are responsible for making sure your outreach and use of contact information comply with applicable privacy, data-protection, direct-marketing, anti-spam, consumer-protection, and platform rules. This includes identifying yourself, providing an opt-out where required, respecting objections, and checking whether consent or another lawful basis is needed for the person and channel involved.

Subscription, payment, and promotion codes
First Users is a monthly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel it. Stripe processes payment using the payment method attached to your subscription. The price, currency, and billing date are shown at checkout. Prices exclude taxes unless checkout says otherwise. You are responsible for applicable taxes, except those Romy is required to collect.
A promotion code applies only when Stripe accepts it and the reduced amount is shown before you confirm checkout. Its duration and restrictions are the ones shown at checkout. Promotion codes cannot be applied retrospectively and have no cash value.
If payment fails or becomes overdue, we may pause new work and access while Stripe retries payment. You remain responsible for amounts already due. We may change a subscription price by giving at least 30 days’ notice; the new price applies from a later renewal, and you may cancel before it takes effect.

Cancellation, refunds, and access
You can cancel through Manage subscription in First Users. Cancellation prevents the next renewal. When Stripe records a cancellation, Romy stops preparing and delivering new people. Your existing material remains available through the end of the period you have paid for, then in read-only form for 30 days after your last paid day.
Payments already taken are not automatically refunded when you cancel. This does not affect any refund or account credit we agree to provide, or any right that cannot legally be excluded. If Romy misses a delivery or materially fails to provide the plan you bought, email hello@romy.is so we can investigate and put it right.

Your data and workspace
You keep any rights you have in the information and business material you submit. Romy uses it to provide your review, lists, workspace, support, and the other services you choose. Romy does not sell your workspace data, use it for advertising, or use one customer’s identifiable information to build another customer’s list.
The Privacy Policy at https://romy.is/privacy explains what data Romy handles, why, where it is processed, and how long it is kept. If Romy processes personal data on your documented instructions as your processor, the Data Processing Addendum at https://romy.is/dpa forms part of this agreement.

Acceptable use
Do not use Romy to break the law or another person’s rights; harass, deceive, discriminate against, or unlawfully profile anyone; send unlawful or abusive outreach; introduce malware; interfere with security or availability; access another customer’s workspace; store data you have no right to share; or reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the underlying product or research database.
We may suspend access or remove material where reasonably necessary to protect people, data, the service, or other customers, or to investigate a suspected breach. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give you a chance to correct it.

Intellectual property and your outputs
You keep ownership of the original content and business data you provide. Romy owns its software, design, strategy corpus, research system, templates, and methodology. Third-party names, marks, posts, and other source material remain subject to their owners’ rights.
While your account is authorised to use Romy, we give your business a non-exclusive licence to use and adapt the reports, lists, and drafts delivered to your workspace for its own business activities. You may export them for that use. You may not sell them as a database, publish personal contact details, or use them to recreate or compete with the service.

Service standards and limitations
We will provide Romy with reasonable care and skill. We may use software, AI models, public sources, and human review to prepare the service. We may change providers, methods, and interface details where this does not materially reduce the plan you bought.
First Users does not guarantee replies, meetings, sales, revenue, search rankings, AI citations, or any other business outcome. Results depend on your product, market, timing, decisions, and outreach. Romy is not an agency and does not make decisions or representations on your behalf.
Romy provides commercial research and drafts, not legal, tax, financial, employment, or regulatory advice. You should obtain specialist advice where a decision requires it.
We may interrupt the service for maintenance, security, provider failure, or events outside our reasonable control. We will use reasonable efforts to restore it and to tell affected customers about a material interruption.

Liability
Neither party is liable for a loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the agreement began, or for an indirect or consequential loss. Romy is not liable for lost profit, lost revenue, lost opportunity, or reputational loss caused by a business decision or outreach you choose to make using the service.
Subject to the paragraph below, Romy’s total liability arising from the service or this agreement is limited to the fees you paid to Romy in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limit applies in total across all related claims.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of a term that cannot legally be limited, or any other liability the law does not allow us to limit.

Ending the agreement
You may end the agreement by cancelling any paid subscription and stopping use of the service. We may end or suspend the agreement for non-payment, a serious or repeated breach, unlawful use, or a security risk. We will give reasonable notice where the circumstances allow it.
Terms that need to continue after the agreement ends remain in effect, including the sections on payment already due, data retention, intellectual property, liability, and governing law.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for a change to the service, law, security, or business operations. We will give reasonable advance notice of a material change by email or in the service. A material change will apply from the date stated in the notice; if you do not agree, you may cancel before it takes effect. Minor clarifications that do not reduce your rights may take effect when published.

Governing law and disputes
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes between us.
Before starting formal proceedings, please email hello@romy.is with the problem and the outcome you want. Both parties will try in good faith to resolve it promptly. This does not prevent either party from seeking urgent relief where needed.
